The head of state traveled to speak to national troops in the eastern front on Tuesday. Zelenskyy announced that he consulted fighters at the military base of the 1st Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard Azov, which is conducting a defensive operation in the Dobropillya sector, a location approximately 20km from the city.

Intense Conditions in the Region

Recent mapping from a national effort showed that Russian forces had pushed further into the city and surrounding areas, though much of it was not fully held by any party. The situation remains critical, with reports indicating that invading units were establishing defenses and building up positions in some districts.

Opposition armies are pushing forward in the Pokrovsk direction and are reportedly acting with enhanced confidence within urban Pokrovsk.

Military experts observed that defense units had freed a large area of a Russian penetration in the Dobropillya area, on the eastern edge of the Pokrovsk operation.

Ukrainian Long-Range Assaults Within Russian Territory

Kyiv's aerial vehicles targeted a production facility approximately 1,300km inside Russia at the location. Local officials confirmed a blast at the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant that resulted in structural damage to suffer damage, adding that the cause of the explosion was undetermined. The national defense command stated there was extensive harm to the complex.

National forces said it struck a Lukoil oil refinery at the city in the federal district in central Russia. The extent of the damage was under evaluation. The territorial leader acknowledged a strike by multiple unmanned aircraft near the refinery.

Zelenskyy's Calls for International Support

Zelenskyy urged the US to remain open to supplying Kyiv with far-reaching military equipment. Speaking at an EU meeting from the Pokrovsk area, the national leader also demanded more international restrictions on Russia – including on the energy and atomic industries – and said he sought accession to the union prior to the next decade.

Foreign Aid and Political Developments

Germany plans to raise its military aid to the eastern European country by three billion euros next year to about €11.5bn, the finance ministry in Berlin said on the start of the week. This incorporates, among other things, cannons, aerial vehicles, armoured vehicles and the replacement of two Patriot systems.

Norwegian munitions maker Nammo has established a cooperation framework with a local manufacturing firm to make, design and market arms in Ukraine.
