Around 25,000 residences in southeastern Queensland woke up experiencing outages on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms passed over the state, producing strong winds reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Impact
Homeowners reported substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities announced that different parts across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair power throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams deployed to handle the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, around 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also encountered power outages after the metropolitan area experienced its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Emergency response teams received 598 emergency reports across the region, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

Damp conditions were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent storm activity expected across multiple regions of both regions.

Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
