A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault caused the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
